AGAIN...SLEEPLESS IN TORONTO?!
« on: September 10, 2010, 04:38:26 PM »
Somebody please tell me they've experienced 'insomnia' following tx (3 months)!

Now I'm thinking that I schlepped and slept sooo much during treatment that my body (mind?) is trying
to make up for LOST (in space) time?

I am now at that point where I worry so much about it, that when I try to sleep my head won't let me.

There I was, starting to look healthy again and bam, right back to looking and feeling EXHAUSTED.

Any ideas out there would be much appreciated.

I find i sleep better if I'm outside all day but that not always possible. i spend many nite's playing msn Texas hold em poker till 3 am, thank god i don't go in to work till 10am. So I'm kinda in the same boat as you and i can't find the answer either but hang in there cus I'm sure it will change, life seems to be full of changes these last couple of years!!!      Keith :)

Well, my doctor prescribed Ambien on my second treatment. I was very reluctant because I have never even wanted to take an aspirin. However, he and my husband finally got through to me that it is extremely important to sleep to get well and stay healthy. So, the rest is history. I talked to my doctor on my last six month visit about coming off it and he said that I was doing too well to mess up anything ....I guess someday me and Ambien will part our ways but for now I take it.
Diagnosed in 2005. Thirty weeks of treatment in 2006 and 48 weeks of treatment in 2007. Undetectable!

This is crazy isn't it...AGAIN last night, up till dawn!  I'm too old for this crap, one
rough night and WOW, does it show on my face!

I am going to the Doctor today to discuss, can't handle this, and will let you know
the outcome, i.e. what drug is prescribed.

AND now I'm thinking...could our bodies actually be going through WITHDRAWALS??

What do you think everyone...

Withdrawal? No. Withdrawal would necessitate a physical dependence on a substance. Even a withdrawal from something as addictive as heroin would be over in a week or so, sometimes less.

Post-tx effects? Could very well be, but let's see what you're doc says. Let us know, michelle.

Welll, I thought it withdrawal 'sounded good'...I need something to blame!

Anyhoo, I was on Imovane 7.5mg but she now prescribed Trazodone @ 25 mg??  Has anyone tried this out?

So here I am, NO SLEEP, at work, driving to the Doctors, back at work, going to the drug store after work and THEN
the fait accompli...the frikkin DENTIST!

If today alone doesn't knock me down (+ the new medication), I'm done for...

Hope Life....you're right!  I've only taken the trazadone for 2 nights and feel like I'm hungover in the morning!  I'm
sleeping but it's like sooo deep that my hair is only screwed up on one side indicating that I didn't move all
night (lol).

I don't think it's going to work for me, but I will do the 30 days and if I can't adjust, will take all of your advice
and give my Doctor options!  She had to go on-line right in front of me to find something other than Imovane.

That did NOT give me a LOT of confidence...and when I read the side affects (something I never really did
before tx), they scared the crap out of me!

As always everyone, thank you for the advice!

I still get the sleepless nights every now and then.  A half mg of Ativan helps me a lot, but it does make me feel all doped up in the morning.  Perhaps taking it earlier in the evening would be better, but I don't usually know I'm having a problem until I look at the alarm clock and see that it is already 2 AM...
